Gesher Unit - Grades 9 & 10 - Counselor-In-Training
Loved being a camper, but ready for the next step? The campers will want to follow in your footsteps as one of our own Counselors-In-Training. Our CIT program offers the tools which are needed to become successful camp counselors. Participants will learn leadership, programming and most importantly, how to be a caregiver. They will develop their skills through workshops led by local professionals and by working closely with their CIT Director as well as senior staff. Our CIT’s are a huge asset to our camp groups as they experience hands-on counseling within the groups.
But it’s not all work with the CIT’s. Our CIT program is a great social projects, special field trips, as well as “CIT Time” each week where you can hang out, play games,
shmooze and plan great programs for the camp.
Marice Levy, our returning CIT Director, is planning lots of new activities to make this program the place your teen wants to be!
CIT’s who are entering grades 9 or 10, are required to fill out a camper registration form and attend a prequalifying interview. Participants will be evaluated following the eight-week program and will be considered for future employment with Shemesh Day Camp.
